PROPIETARY API
.Net/C++ Windows API
The processing engine of our intelligent system controller is based on a low-level XML API (Application Programming Interface). To minimize the time and effort required for automation and customization, INTELLASE offers a higher-level approach. NET/Win32 DLL API that handles network connection requirements and provides vector-oriented instructions.
These APIs can be used to create a GUI application that interacts with the controller via a tethered connection. Or, it can be used to create offline job files that can be sent to the controller for stand-alone execution.
Features of Our .Net/C++ Windows API
In addition to basic vector operations, our proprietary API offers a rich set of features that make integration seamless. These features include:
- Vector and raster import tool
- 2D and 3D manipulation capability
- Hatching algorithms
- Industry standard symbolic codes (Barcode, data matrices, etc.)
- Visualization tool kit
- Custom Scripting language for communicating with hardware
What Is an API?
An application programming interface, or API, allows different software systems to communicate. It serves as a bridge, enabling users to send all the artwork and details directly to the laser system for faster production without an intermediary step.
This direct, automated control makes our API ideal for industrial automation and businesses managing high volumes.
How Does It Work?
By reducing manual input and eliminating redundant steps, our API helps you achieve what matters most: lower labor costs and improved operational efficiency. And it starts with just three steps.
Input Job Data
Our proprietary API receives instructions that include vector or raster graphics and parameters.
Automated Processing
The API bridges the software and the machine, transmitting graphics and settings.
Mark or Engrave
Your laser system receives the job data, allowing you to mark or engrave with ease.
Benefits of Our Proprietary API
- You Can Create GUI Applications: Our API enables operators to manage vector-oriented instructions for marking, allowing you to build custom graphic user interfaces (GUIs) for your specific workflow.
- You Can Create Offline Job Files: Offline-capable applications eliminate the need for a constant network connection. This increases speed and performance, as they do not rely on network latency.
- It Offers Better Usability: GUIs enable users to navigate systems without special training, as functions are represented with icons rather than text-based commands.
- It Improves Automation: Our proprietary API allows for integration of laser systems into industrial, automated production lines.
- It Increases Efficiency: Bypassing the intermediary step reduces idle time and streamlines production.

FAQs
What can you build with a proprietary API for laser systems?
A proprietary API allows you to build custom software solutions, such as a GUI application for operator control or to generate automated workflows. It enables direct communication with the laser system, supporting high-volume production with minimal manual input.
How do offline job files improve laser marking efficiency?
Offline job files allow jobs to be created and stored independently of a live connection. This reduces reliance on network availability, improves processing speed, and ensures consistent execution in stand-alone production environments.
Is a GUI application necessary when using a proprietary API?
No, but a GUI application significantly improves usability. While the API can be used with scripts or backend systems, a GUI makes it easier for operators to manage marking jobs, adjust parameters, and monitor performance without advanced programming knowledge.
How does a proprietary API support industrial automation?
A proprietary API integrates directly with production systems, enabling automated data transfer, job execution, and system control. By eliminating manual steps and enabling the creation of offline job files or custom interfaces, it helps streamline workflows and scale industrial laser operations efficiently.
